RiverView

Previously a high-end luxury condominium project known as Star Riverside, the prominent site at Riverside Drive and I-35 became a casualty in the economic bust which followed the boom period of the early to mid-2000s. Reorganized and redesigned in 2010 and completed in 2012, Riverview Apartments returned as a massive 302-unit campus anchoring and heralding the burgeoning urban renewal of the East Riverside Corridor (ERC) transportation-oriented district. Four buildings (two mid-rise and two high-rise) cluster around an expansive 20,000 square foot courtyard which functions not only as amenity deck but also as the structural roof to four below-grade levels of parking garage, and as a roof garden, which by way of its unique design featuring porous paving, planting beds and biofiltration pond, serves as a giant water quality stormwater system, the largest of its kind for mixed-use multi-family types in Austin. Riverview Apartments is a LEED Silver project. (Rommel Sulit, Project Coordinator, BOKA Powell)
